At a glance

- Improved communication throughout entire team
- Empowered staff to use mobile phones to clock on and clock off
The Story
Dr. Kate Adams has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. According to her, it’s in her DNA. So it made sense that she took her love of pets and science into a business.
As the owner of Bondi Vet Hospital — Australia’s most well-known vet practice — Dr. Katie built an innovative team who uses modern, innovative veterinary medicine and old-fashioned service to deliver the highest quality veterinary care for pets.
“The thing about being a hospital owner is you not only have to be a really good vet,” says Dr. Kate. “But you also have to be a great business person.”

The Challenge
In addition to providing high quality care for her clients, Dr. Kate was spending a lot of time on administrative tasks. Rostering, managing her staff, and sorting through text messages kept her from doing what she loves.
“Before we had Deputy, it was chaos,” says Dr. Kate. “There were Excel spreadsheets, text messages, and worse, people didn’t really know exactly what days they were supposed to be working.”

The Solution
“You know what I love about Deputy? It’s the rostering,” beams Dr. Kate. “It’s so easy and so good.”
Instead of spending countless hours sorting through spreadsheets and texts, Dr. Kate now has an easy way to see when her staff is working. With just a glance, she can see how many hours each person is working and plan accordingly.
Deputy’s mobile app empowers her staff to clock in and clock off on their phone. And then Dr. Kate can see their status from her phone.
In addition to streamlining rostering and time tracking, Dr. Kate was able to improve communication throughout the office. Now the Bondi vet team communicates through Deputy’s News Feed tool which lets staff stay informed, share important messages, and contribute to the workplace conversation.
Now Kate and her team can spend less time focusing on administration and more time and saving animals’ lives.
