A day to give thanks to those who clock in to keep our communities thriving
Falling on the last Sunday of November (November 24 in 2024), Shift Worker Sunday is a day to celebrate and appreciate Shift Workers worldwide.
Also known as hourly, essential, or frontline workers, shift workers are dedicated individuals who serve outside the traditional 9-to-5 to keep our lives running, day and night. They keep our hospitals open, groceries stocked, products made, and cities safe. And though they make up more than 80% of the world’s workforce, their impact is too often underappreciated and overlooked.
Shift Worker Sunday is a chance for us to say “thank you” to all shift workers—the everyday heroes who keep the world moving and communities thriving, one shift at a time.
Improving the world of work, one shift at a time
Deputy provides managers with the smart tools to run their businesses more efficiently, simply manage compliance and keep their team connected, while empowering shift workers to manage their own schedules and live the life they want.
In 2024 alone, shift workers across the globe logged more than 770 million work hours over 102 million shifts using Deputy. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor Shift Worker Sunday — and support all those who make our world a better place, each and every day.

A little thanks goes a long way
Shift workers are the heartbeat of our communities. Yet Deputy Research shows 1 in every 2 shift workers would like more recognition at work. So we asked shift workers how they like to be recognised. The overwhelming response?
“A simple thank you goes a long way.”
